ELEKTRA / Quebec Digital Paris/Île-de-France

ELEKTRA Montreal presents Quebec Digital Paris/Île-de-France from 1 October 2015 to 31 January 2016: the Quebec section of the first edition of Némo, the Paris/Île-de-France international biennial of digital arts

ELEKTRA and Arcadi Île-de-France have been collaborating since 2006. Through artistic programme exchanges, they have both contributed significantly to the recognition of Quebec’s and France’s talents in both territories. After an initial large-scale project in 2011/2012, mainly financed by the FFQCD (France/Quebec decentralised cooperation fund), this partnership is being stepped up in 2015/ 2016 with a major campaign to boost the profile and marketing of digital works. The Paris/Île-de-France International Biennial of Digital Art will be twinned with the Montreal International Biennial of Digital Art. Quebec artists will present their installations and performances between October 2015 and January 2016 in France, under the umbrella title “Quebec Digital Paris/Île-de-France”. Then it will be the turn of French artists to take action, starting in June 2016 at the Elektra Festival and the Montreal International Biennial of Digital Art.

With support from: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development; the Department of Cooperation and Cultural Action of the Consulate General of France in Quebec, as part of FFQCD/Biennum 2015-2016; the Quebec Government’s Office in Paris; the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communication; and the Quebec Government’s Ministry of International Francophone Relations.
