In South Korea, five colors – white, black, red, yellow and blue – are associated with the elements, as well as the seasons, creatures, and values. At a time when color is often reduced to a matter of taste or marketing, revisiting ancient symbolic systems verges on cultural utopia.

Major global shifts affect all forms of creation, including those spurred on by artificial intelligence. The Couleurs de corée (Colors of Korea) exhibition fosters dialogue between works with formal similarities and creates bridges between tradition and modernity.
Examining contemporary pieces through a time-tested lens may be the best way to reasonably envision possible futures. Art, a primary means of expression, becomes fertile ground for utopias to sprout up, including that of a world being repaired.
