Le Générateur has been amassing an expansive data bank and a living library of artistic performances since 2006. Re/generative Performance reimagines these artistic creations by producing collective works in real time, which blend memory and innovation to form a unique performative experience.
The art center has created Performance Sources, a tool for researchers and the public alike, to spread knowledge on different forms of artistic expression and the many artists who have spent time at the venue.
In this live performance, artists interpret scripts generated from projected text, which serve as their instructions – prompts in reverse. The artists follow these directions as they see fit, pushing their limits and taking surprising new narrative avenues.
