As part of Out of Time, the closing weekend of the Némo Biennial
A performance resembling a multimedia lecture, Sleep for Earth is also a fictional UN program combining science and utopian visions: a collective sleep for humanity to halt the extraction of natural resources and give the planet time to regenerate sustainably.

In an approach both radical and pragmatic, Le Clair Obscur projects a future in which humanity uses scientific breakthroughs to voluntarily hibernate for several centuries. This global break is designed to save dwindling resources and give the earth time to regenerate.
Centered on an immersive lecture, Sleep for Earth is not merely a performance – it’s a global project and an open, scalable geopolitical manifesto. A forward-looking fiction with an unconventional TEDx talk and a simulated UN general assembly, Sleep for Earth invites us to rethink our modes of existence so as to better put them on pause.
The closing weekend of the 2025 Némo Biennial, titled Out of Time, explores time as the raw material of every utopia. At the heart of three shows and performances, past and future intertwine through digital arts, transformed into a living link between heritage and the technological age.
