Brain Machine
Group exhibition

The race to develop brain-machine interfaces is afoot. Will our smartphone-dominated digital world soon be supplanted by a mental world? Is there a near future in which we will be able to act, create and communicate with our minds alone, using prostheses that translate our thoughts? Through the work of pioneering artists who design and use these technologies, which are still experimental, the audience can play football or draw a flower with their thoughts.

With Memo Akten, Maurice Benayoun, Sougwen Chung, Justine Emard, Neil Harbisson, Damara Inglês, Kim KototamaLune, Mentalista, Adrian Meyer, Julien Prévieux, Marion Roche, Rozetta & Schematic Wizard, Jordane Saget, Inès Sieulle, Fabien Zocco

Curated by Clément Thibault and the Cube Garges curatorial team

All Unsaved Progress Will Be Lost
A virtual-reality work by Mélanie Courtinat (10 min.)

Drawing from the account of a woman who refused to evacuate the village of her birth following a tragic disaster, Mélanie Courtinat has created a melancholic walk through a foggy concrete ghost town.

Last Whispers
A virtual-reality work by Mélanie Lena Herzog (30 min.)

This immersive oration comprises vocal recordings of extinct or endangered languages alongside gravitational waves caused by supernovae made audible.

Panorama
Audiovisual performance by TS/CN

To kick off the evening, the duo TS/CN will perform Panorama, an audiovisual show generated using creative programming software. A succession of digital fragments and complex environments give rise to immersive, hypnotic digital landscapes formed and deformed by sound. The performance is produced by 36 degrés, a hybrid curatorial and art mediation project that brings together the digital, immersive and interactive arts, together with electronic music, in new, multifarious atmospheres.

Sugar Sugar
Concert

Headlining the event is Sugar Sugar, with a live electroacoustic show that gives free rein to improvisation and intuition. The mind takes flight and the body lets loose to pulsating beats that create an immersive ambiance melding human and machine, techno and acid house.
