Plant Being is an audiovisual installation generated entirely by a plant, whose natural electrical signal is measured in real time and transformed into sounds and images. A technological ode to nature.
When plants express themselves, they have the potential to become musicians or video creators. The immersive installation Plant Being is a case in point – a plant’s electrical activity is recorded in real time and transformed into sound and visual landscapes. The result is a sensory experience in which technology becomes a tool for vegetal expression.
Sensors pick up on the plant’s electrical impulses and make them perceptible to people – technology becomes a tool for expanding humans’ awareness of their environment. Alongside the sensory experience, Plant Being sows the seeds of a desirable future in which digital innovations are used to restore nature’s place in the world.
